BCKA KICKBOXING

I have trained with the BCKA since I was 13 and have achieved a lot with them including my two world titles.  The BCKA are fairly unique in that there is something for everyone at one of their clubs.  I started off in my local club training once a week and progressed into training with the BCKA England Squad training 5-6 times a week.  I worked hard achieved my 1st and 2nd degree black belts, won the World Championships and also became an instructor of my own club.  The BCKA in recent years has had so much success on a world level with 15 world titles won for the club in the last 3 years.

Kickboxing is a popular, exciting sport and martial art consisting of hand and foot striking and blocking techniques.  At the highest level it is a physically demanding sport and for this reason kickboxing training incorporates cardio, core, flexibility, strength and conditioning training from beginner to advanced level. In addition to this fitness training the BCKA also adhere to syllabus linework and grading structure enabling students to mark their progress and work towards achieving a black belt. Focus pad routines are used for endurance and training fighting techniques.

The BCKA was formed in 1996 by Alex Barrowman to expand his kung fu organisation and venture into tournament fighting. Since then the BCKA has gone from strength to strength with clubs covering much of the East Midlands. The BCKA offers you the opportunity to train for fitness, to learn a martial art and self defence or to fight in competition. For more information on the BCKA please visit the BCKA website.
